The islands seen from the coast
From the RIB the landscape changes rapidly: light walls, inlets and profiles of the inhabited centers allow you to grasp differences that on land would require more travel. Favignana and Levanzo are not two interchangeable stages; observing its shapes and proportions is part of the interest of the tour. The actual route is adjusted to the wind and sea, so treat the cove names as orientation, not as an immutable sequence.
The RIB offers a close relationship with the water, but the spaces are those of a small boat. Bring a soft bag that can be stored easily and protect electronic items from splashes. If shade, toilet or the possibility of moving around on board are decisive for you, ask for the characteristics of the vehicle used on the chosen date before confirming.
Swim, observe and respect the marine area
The stops allow you to enter the water and observe the sea with the equipment provided by the operator. Follow the directions for entry, return and distance from the boat: even in an apparently calm stretch, the current and wind can change. If you don't want to swim at all the stops, you can evaluate in advance how to spend your time on board and which spots offer more shelter from the sun.
The presence of drinks and snacks makes the day more comfortable, but should not be confused with a full lunch. Check the option to decide whether to bring something to eat, avoiding bulky containers and light waste that could get lost. For any fees for the marine protected area, check what is already included and how much to pay separately, without relying solely on the initial price of the tour.
Check-in at the construction site in Via Ilio
The meeting point is at the Cantiere Nautico Miceli, in Via Ilio 12 in Trapani, with the staff reference indicated on the voucher. Don't show up at the hydrofoil terminal thinking that all excursions start from the same point: the port area is large and the piers have different accesses. Check the location before leaving your accommodation and arrive with plenty of time for boarding procedures.
The return is to the starting point. Any private transfers to reach the construction site must be requested and are not automatically included. If you have a flight or ferry after the tour, leave a large gap: a sea excursion should not be the last step in a chain of tight connections. An evening in Trapani after disembarking allows you to end the day more calmly.
Trapani
How to get there
From the train station
Trapani
From Trapani station, organize the short urban transfer to Via Ilio 12, at the Cantiere Nautico Miceli. Walking may be an option if you travel light, checking the pedestrian path along the port areas; in intense heat or beach bags a taxi may be more practical. Use the full number and not just the "port" indication, which could take you to a different terminal from the one on the excursion.
From the airport
Trapani Vincenzo Florio
From Vincenzo Florio airport, check the AST connections to Trapani and the most useful stop to continue to the construction site. The shuttles follow their own schedules, so please allow time for luggage and final transfer. A taxi or pre-booked service can reach Via Ilio directly, but remains separate from the boat ride. For a morning departure it is preferable to already be in the city the previous evening.
Always check the meeting point on your voucher: it may vary by the option booked. Check timetables and connections again before travelling.
Before you go
- Bring a tarp, sun protection and a waterproof case; Leave hard suitcases and unnecessary items on the floor.
- Check lunch, equipment and tariff of the marine area in the selected option, distinguishing them from snacks and drinks.
- Save the reference Cantiere Nautico Miceli, Via Ilio 12: the embarkation point does not necessarily coincide with that of the scheduled ferries.
