The coast as the thread of the day

Navigation allows you to grasp the relationship between the mountains and the sea, with sections where the rock reaches directly onto the water. Each stop changes the perspective: from the boat you observe the general profile, while approaching a beach you recognize surfaces, pebbles and shades of the seabed. You don't need to chase a complete list of coves to appreciate this variety.

Famous names such as Cala Luna or Cala Mariolu help you orient yourself in the gulf, but the actual sequence depends on the sea, wind, access and organization of the chosen departure. Some areas follow specific disembarkation and use rules. Seeing a cove from offshore is not the same as being able to go down anywhere: the commander coordinates the route with the applicable provisions and with the conditions of the day.

Stops at the seaside and life on board

The breaks allow you to alternate navigation with time in the water or on land where applicable. Before leaving, listen to the point and time of return and recognize your vessel. Several RIBs can park in busy areas: keeping a clear reference avoids confusion when it's time to leave. To enter the sea, always follow the instructions received on site.

Bring a soft bag with a tarp, sun protection and light clothing. Check whether lunch, water and snorkeling equipment are included in your package or to be arranged separately. Don't assume that a long day automatically includes a full meal. Any environmental contributions or local tariffs must also be checked beforehand, so you can arrive prepared without adding unexpected expenses when boarding.

The meeting at the port and the journey to Cala Gonone

The reference indicated is Puddu Carburanti, in Piazza Porto 1 in Cala Gonone. Arrive early to find parking, reach the meeting point and complete procedures. The town belongs to the municipality of Dorgali, but the meeting point is on the sea: reaching Dorgali does not mean being ready to embark. Also plan for the stretch of road that descends towards Cala Gonone.

For a morning departure it is convenient to sleep in the area the previous evening. The transfer from Olbia requires real organization and is not a short urban shuttle. After returning, leave time to dry off, collect your items and get to your vehicle. Avoid connecting the exit directly to an evening flight with minimal margin: the sea and traffic conditions can change the times.
