An introduction in the city of vermouth
Vermouth starts with wine and brings together botanical flavours, sweetness and bitterness. Wormwood has a characteristic role in the tradition of Vermouth di Torino. The workshop introduces this culture and its connection with the aperitivo, providing some context for the samples on the table. You do not need specialist knowledge to find the comparison rewarding. Arrive with a simple question, such as which aromas you recognise most readily, and use the explanations to put words to the differences you notice. Curiosity matters more than an established tasting vocabulary.
Compare three tastings
Three vermouth tastings are included. Begin by paying attention to the aroma, then consider the balance of sweetness, bitterness and the finish. You need not identify every ingredient: noticing how one sample differs from another already makes the tasting more engaging. Personal preferences offer something to discuss rather than a test with right and wrong answers. The bottles served may depend on the session. If one particular brand is your reason for booking, ask whether it will be included. Treat the tasting as its own activity and plan a proper meal separately.
Create a bottle to remember
The practical part brings together a wine base and aromatic ingredients using the equipment provided. The organiser describes a setup with droppers, funnels and a small bottle to take home. Moving from observation to a choice is the interesting step: you might discover that a herbal direction appeals to you, or prefer a more spice-led aroma. Follow the expert’s quantities and instructions, keeping a note of a combination you would like to remember. There is no need to reproduce a famous brand’s recipe. The personal blend is a souvenir of the workshop, and an opportunity to understand your own preferences a little better.
Find the workshop at the former INCET site
Viator lists Via Francesco Cigna 96/17d, while the organiser gives Piazza Teresa Noce 17D at the former INCET site, inside the courtyard on the first floor. Keep both references and follow the entrance instructions in your session confirmation. This is not a meeting in Piazza Castello or a visit to Casa Martini. Check the calendar and teaching language before arranging the rest of your day. The listing offers Italian; an English version of this guide does not guarantee an English-language class. If you have mobility requirements, ask specifically about the entrance and access to the first floor.
Torino
How to get there
From the train station
Torino Porta Susa and Porta Nuova
From Porta Susa, walk to Bolzano Capolinea on Corso Bolzano and take GTT bus 46 towards Leinì. Vigevano stop, number 3265, is on Via Cigna after Corso Vigevano. Continue on foot to the former INCET entrance and Piazza Teresa Noce 17D, checking the building number against your voucher. From Porta Nuova, take metro M1 towards Fermi to Porta Susa, then continue with bus 46. Check GTT diversions and the evening return service. Allow extra time for waiting and finding the correct entrance within the courtyard.
From the airport
Turin Caselle (TRN)
The airport railway station is opposite the Arrivals area. Trains reach Torino Porta Susa in approximately half an hour; check your travel date and allow separately for landing formalities, baggage and waiting. From Porta Susa, continue by bus 46 to Vigevano and walk to the former INCET site. An official taxi is an alternative for the final leg or the whole journey: give Piazza Teresa Noce 17D together with the Via Cigna reference on your voucher. Avoid a workshop time immediately after your scheduled landing.
Always check the meeting point on your voucher: it may vary by the option booked. Check timetables and connections again before travelling.
