Choose a theme before choosing every stop

A personalised route works best when your priorities are clear. You might focus on major landmarks, quieter streets, viewpoints or a mix that helps orient a first visit. Share those interests rather than presenting an inflexible list of many places spread across the city. The driver-guide can explain what fits the available time and current road conditions. Sightseeing from a small vehicle gives continuity to the journey, while selected stops provide a chance to look more closely. A useful overview is about relationships between places, not simply the number of names reached.

Understand the difference between seeing and entering

Passing a monument or stopping for a photograph is different from visiting its interior. The golf-cart format does not automatically include museum admission, timed archaeological tickets or access through pedestrian restrictions. If you want to enter a particular attraction afterwards, plan that as a separate part of the day unless it is explicitly included. The same distinction applies to accessibility: reducing walking can be helpful, but you still need to consider boarding the vehicle, seating and any walking at stops. Discuss practical requirements directly so that the arrangement fits your party.

Use the tour to shape the rest of the stay

Bring a small set of questions that will help later exploration: which area suits a longer walk, how two landmarks relate geographically, or where a particular historical period is most visible. Make brief notes during pauses instead of trying to photograph every moment. The private setting allows conversation, making it particularly valuable for a mixed-interest group. Keep clothing appropriate to the weather and avoid carrying luggage that occupies passenger space. A relaxed meal or independent walk afterwards gives you an immediate chance to revisit something that caught your attention.

Roma

How to get there

From the train station

Roma Termini

Roma Termini is the main reference station for arrivals on long-distance trains. Continue by metro, city bus or on foot, depending on the meeting area. Check the route on the ATAC website before travelling: engineering work, events and diversions can change which stops are available. Allow separately for the transfer from your train and for the check-in margin requested by the operator; neither is part of the advertised experience duration. The default starting address is the Rolling Rome office at Piazza del Gesù 47. Central accommodation pickup may be arranged when the correct details are supplied and confirmed. From Termini, plan an ATAC route to the Piazza Venezia/Piazza del Gesù area and finish on foot, or follow the agreed hotel pickup. Do not assume any location in greater Rome is automatically covered.

From the airport

Roma Fiumicino

From Fiumicino, the Leonardo Express connects the airport with Roma Termini. Continue from the station using city transport towards the meeting point on your voucher. The airport train and the onward city journey are separate services from the experience. If you fly in on the same day, allow for baggage collection and flight delays before choosing a departure. Check Trenitalia for current departures, ticket conditions and service updates.

Always check the meeting point on your voucher: it may vary by the option booked. Check timetables and connections again before travelling.

Before you go

  • Confirm the starting address and whether central hotel pickup applies to your booking; a request needs an agreed location rather than only a hotel name.
  • Tell the provider about boarding, seating or child-equipment requirements before purchase so that the vehicle and format can be assessed.
  • Distinguish sightseeing stops from paid attraction entries, and leave enough time if you plan a separate museum visit later in the day.
