Understanding the valley through its wines
Valle dei Laghi lies between the Brenta Dolomites and the northern end of Lake Garda. Its cultivated landscape, water and winds from the lake form part of the story behind local wine. Pisoni, the winery listed at the visit address, traces its family tradition to 1852 and describes white and red wines produced using organic growing methods.
The producer describes old oak barrels from the Austro-Hungarian period in the historic cellar, alongside modern spaces for winemaking and maturation. The visit links that background to materials and the work behind each glass. Ask how maturation differs between wines, using the rooms and objects presented during the tour as a starting point. Any additional vineyard walk should be discussed separately.
Four wines, Vino Santo and local accompaniments
Viator gives an approximate duration of ninety minutes. The inclusions list visits to the new and historic cellars, four wines divided into two whites and two reds, plus Vino Santo. Olive oil with rustic bread, cold cuts, cheese and a typical cake are also listed. These details describe the experience without establishing an unchanging restaurant menu or a particular portion size.
Comparing the glasses can be rewarding without specialist wine knowledge. Look at the colours, notice the aromas and use the explanations to explore what distinguishes each wine. Specific labels and vintages are not fixed in the public listing. If there is a bottle you particularly want to try, ask before booking, and discuss any requested changes to the food at the same time.
Why Vino Santo belongs to this story
Vino Santo is a distinctive part of the valley’s wine tradition. The producer explains that Nosiola grapes dry on racks known as arèle for more than five or six months, until Holy Week. Pressing is followed by slow fermentation. Knowing this process gives the tasting another dimension, beyond simply comparing a white wine with a red.
The experience introduces that history through the finished wine. It does not promise participation in the harvest, a grape-pressing demonstration or every production stage in progress on the day. You can ask which vintage is being poured and how time has influenced its character. Rare bottles or historical vintages should not be assumed to form part of the booked selection.
The meeting point is in Pergolese
The booking page gives Via San Siro 7, Pergolese, and asks guests to enter the winery and provide their name. The visit finishes at the same point. Keep the complete address and voucher handy: the platform’s Trento destination category does not place the venue in the provincial capital. Getting to the winery is an independently arranged part of the day.
English is the language listed; check any other language requirement with the provider. The listing states that the activity is not wheelchair accessible, so discuss specific access needs before choosing a date. Allow space around the appointment for arrival and the return journey, and communicate allergies or dietary requirements beforehand so that possible arrangements can be confirmed.
Pergolese
How to get there
From the train station
Trento
From Trento railway station, request an out-of-town journey with Taxi Trento to Via San Siro 7, Pergolese, specifying Madruzzo municipality. The official service handles personalised routes, with availability and cost to be confirmed. Its website states that advance taxi calls cannot be booked from the railway station: ask how to arrange the pickup, and agree the return journey as well. This transport is separate from the winery experience.
From the airport
Verona Valerio Catullo (VRN)
At Verona Airport, take ATV Verona AirLink bus 199 to Verona Porta Nuova station. Continue by train on the Brenner railway to Trento, checking the actual travel date with Trenitalia. Finish with the agreed out-of-town transfer to the winery’s address. Allow for waiting, luggage and connections as well as the approximate ninety minutes of the experience itself.
Always check the meeting point on your voucher: it may vary by the option booked. Check timetables and connections again before travelling.
